INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE CRUCIFER
The server and crucifer should be vested and ready 15 minutes before the service. They should wait in the parish hall or choir room. Do not wait in the sacristy while Father David is vesting for worship.
The crucifer should dress in black cassock (may wear white surplice, also)
Take Prayers of the People book to the front before lighting candles
Light candles 5 - 10 minutes before service (lighting order: altar left, torch left, altar right, torch right)
Take cross from the church and through the parish hall for the Processional
Process cross ahead of Server and Celebrant (place cross in holder after Celebrant has reverenced altar)
Read Intercessions from Prayers of the People book
Hand offering plate to usher
Check to make sure the gate is closed for Eucharist
Open gate after Eucharist
Extinguish candles
Process cross back (and through parish hall) after service
